February is amazing and I'm so grateful for many things. Also, I'm one year older this February which means... never mind... lol (Count my candles and you'll know how old I am. hehe).

The Difference Between Marketing, PR, Advertising, and Personal Branding

Media_httpwwwquickspr_dhjbb

Awesome! I often get confused with the differences but after seeing this, how can I ever forget. haha! :D

But before I come across this cool illustration, I actually researched on the difference between marketing and advertising. The best answer I read is that consider marketing as a cake and advertising is just 1 slice of the cake. The other slices includes market research, branding, PR and many more. I hope I shared something worth remembering. :)

Sinulog 2012

Sinulog-2001

Viva Pit Senyor!

Today, we celebrate Sinulog in honor of Senyor Santo Niño. The traffic, jam-packed streets and the heat of the sun never stopped everyone to go out and show their love and devotion to Senyor Santo Niño.

My Sinulog Experience

Lechon everywhere! Planking, massage, fastfood, more fun in the Philippines! :)

2012 Plan

Last year, I wrote 7 major plans for 2011. Happily, I only got 1 plan that was not achieved, to wake up early. hehehe. Overall, that's good news for me! :)

So it's time again to make a plan for the year.

1. Sleep early & wake up early - Anti all-nighter year! :)

2. Time management - I will focus and manage my time better. And as the saying goes, "don't spread yourself too thin".

3. Box and run more - 2011 was a healthy year for me. It's all because of exercise!

4. Manage resources -  It's time to save up and stay liquid throughout the year!

5. Read more - Reading really makes a difference.

6. Stay Positive - Yes, better be positive or you'll get old fast. hehe

7. Be the best partner - unlimited years

That's it.

So long 2011! Looking forward for a prosperous and happy 2012! :)

Merry Christmas 2011

Merry-christmas

Christmas will always be my favorite time of year. It's the time where you can just sit back, relax, enjoy the moment with your loved ones and thank God for the wonderful blessings you received. With that, I wanted to end my year with a "thank you list".  (inspired by iamademar)

Thank you for my family Bro - I'm so blessed to have loving parents and wonderful siblings. They're always my inspiration and my strength and I'm very thankful to have them as my family.

Thank you for the opportunities Bro - It's been a crazy busy year and it's all because of the opportunities you gave. Thank you.

Thank you for my friends Bro - This year, I met a lot of people especially in the IT scene. I'm very thankful you gave me a chance to met them. Also, I may not be always present to any gatherings and events but my elementary/high school/college friends are always there. Thank you for giving me understanding friends Bro.

Thank you for the gift of talents Bro - This year made me showcase my talents in any possible way. Thank you Bro.

Thank you for helping me understand what I truly want in life Bro - The merge of both knowledge is now put into good practice. You made it possible Bro and thank you.

Thank you for prosperous years ahead Bro - This may be very early but I also wanted to thank you in advance Bro.

Make one for yourself too. You still have 2 hours before we say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012. Leave all the baggages behind and start the year right with a positive attitude and strong heart.

May you also have an awesome Christmas and a prosperous 2012! :)

Unexpected Piece

While adjusting the color levels of my scanned painting in photoshop, I accidentally pressed a wrong shortcut command key. It turned out not bad at all. In fact, the combination actually looked great! (IMHO) So I looked for that wrong button and what I pressed was CTRL I for Invert.

So, I guess this shows something we can reflect on. I found this saying "Mistakes are portal of discovery". Looking back when I made Pilot, it was also by accident that turned out to be a cool icon for us. I just tried working on shapes and eventually it looked good. Now, Pilot serves as our inspiration to make Bootyard work.

Bohol for the nth time

Tagbilaran is just a few hours away from Cebu. It will take 1 hour and 45 mins by fastcraft or 4 hours by big boat. (Tip: Avail a round trip ticket either Weesam or Oceanjet for only 500 pesos! Just book 2 days before your trip. It's best to buy tickets direct to their office. Why? To avoid the open air accomodation. hihihi)

This time also, my Bohol trip was extra special coz I finally convinced Tute to go with us. Yehey! I kept on bragging how beautiful Bohol is and it would be better to just show it to him right?

My grandparents lives in Dauis, Bohol. The area which I considered the best place to live in Bohol. Their house is just near the church, park, tennis court, basketball court, Tagbilaran and Panglao! :)

The highlight of our stay in Bohol was when I finally got the chance to show Tute the most romantic cafe I've ever been to. This cafe was also located near my lola and lolo's house. So every night, Tute and I stay here. It's called Cafe Lawis located beside the church. The first night was the most awesome night coz we're the only ones occupying the place! Pretty romantic and relaxing.

Lastly, I'd like to mention another great restaurant we found after exploring Tagbilaran. The restaurant is called Garden Cafe located beside St. Joseph Cathedral. Too bad I was not able to bring my cam. So I borrowed some photos to show you the interior of the restaurant.

*2nd, 3rd and 4th photos borrowed from http://littlepinoy.multiply.com

Something special about this restaurant is that it is manned by deaf and mute employees. The company hires around 80+ or more of them. I admire the owner. Great concept for the restaurant at the same time, he was able to help physically challenged individuals get jobs.

Here's how to order in Garden Cafe. In each booth there's a telephone and you call the operator and give your orders. Then, the employees will deliver it to you and you thank them using a sign language. Amazing right? Tute and I were amazed too and we're happy we found this restaurant.

Enjoy! :)
